Initial Thermodynamic Analysis

A thermodynamic analysis using an air-standard cycle with Wiebe function heat addition has been performed.   This analysis of the Legacy Engine was also compared to a crankshaft engine with the same displacement and compression ratio and operating with the same emissions-compliant fuel calibration. The following figure shows the model results for this comparison, illustrating the predicted increase in efficiency of approximately 16%.
